Sunburn. Any suggestions?

Ugh! I was only outside for a short time. I can't believe how sunburned my arms are!

I had some regular aloe in the house, so I slathered that on.

It only helped a little. Chat Icon

I usually use a lidocane spray, but from what I've read online its class B so it should be avoided.

Any suggestions on any other safe remedies?

Stay hydrated/drink a lot of water b/c I hear that helps...also, I like the creamy aloe, or a thick lotion for a sunburn over the green sticky aloe...

Also, is Tylenol ok to take (I think it is)??? If it is you could try that for the pain...

Vinegar...I know it sounds weird, but it helps take the sting away.

Also, take an oatmeal bath (I think Aveeno is one of a few brands that sells this). It helps soothe as well.

I know it's too late, but you have to be so careful! Chat Icon Chat Icon

I got sunburn SO badly when I was pg with DD, my legs swelled up REALLY bad afterwards and I thought about going to the hospital. Even though the sunburn faded, the swelling stayed until I gave birth.

PLEASE PLEASE learn from my pain, and be extra careful in the sun!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Feel better!!

I usually am so over cautious because I'm super pale and burn so easily. I basically never go to the beach because its just not worth it to me! We were just outside in front of someone's house watching the kids play.

I wish it had occurred to me that it was sunny/hot enough out today. It totally slipped my mind.

So far no swelling, so I guess I'm really lucky - that doesn't sound like fun at all!!!

crashing on this board, but the same thing happened to me today! i'm super pale and we were outside but since the sun wasn't really hot it didn't occur that i was getting burned.

anyway, my friend swears that whole milk and yogurt works so i put milk compresses on and then slathered yogurt all over myself and let it sit for like 20 minutes. i know it sounds crazy but i googled it and it's supposed to work :) it was disgusting but if it gets rid of the red i'll be so happy! once i washed it off i put a ton of lotion on. good luck and feel better!!
