I'll check my pics and see how long they bloom for. Not only do they come back every year, if you dig them up every 3 to 5 years, you can divide them and have 4x the amount you had originally.

Re: ??? about Day Lilies
First pic I have of them blooming is June 17th. Another pic August 7th. But by August 28th, they were gone.
Edited to add: Best place to buy (if you're patient) is the Long Island Daylily Society's annual sale. This year it's on Saturday, August 20th at SUNY Farmingdale.
You won't get blooms this year from them, but it's by far the cheapest price for the best selection.
All of the flowers in his picture are from LIDS and they cost about $70 total. They're all orange, red and yellow because those are my favorite colors for daylilies. I divided the oldest ones last year and gave them to my Mom.

Re: ??? about Day Lilies
Do you have to do anything to them once you plant the bulbs? Also, my daffodils are dying off now, do I do anything with them once the flowers are spent-do I deadhead them?
Thanks!

I don't do a darn thing to them. The daylily foliage doesn't look so great after a hot summer and I know people who cut them back. But I always leave the foliage.
For daffodils and tulips, you're supposed to leave the foliage alone till it dies off itself. The foliage needs sunlight to transfer energy back into the bulb to store over the rest of the season. So you'll have a good bloom next year too. Every year I say I'm going to plant something in front of my bulbs to mask the crappy looking foliage, but I never do.

Re: ??? about Day Lilies
That's what I thought I was supposed to do with the daffodils, but I was hoping I was wrong! I planted my whole walkway with daffodils and tulips and now when they die off, its going to look like a mess! It is worth it b/c it looks beautiful right now but I wish I had planned better! Thanks for the info!
