Help - Lightbulb broke off in socket...
The bottom part is still screwed in. And to make it worse, it's the lightbulb in the inside of my refrigerator!!!! Most awkward angle ever! How can i get the bottom part out? Am I at risk for electric shock?
This has to have happened to someone else before lol.
thanks

I think I read you can jam a half potato in there and it will grab on and you can screw it out.

Re: Help - Lightbulb broke off in socket...
I had this happen. I took a pair of pliers, opened them up wide and held them open against the sides of the bulb socket and unscrewed it that way.
It worked like a charm. Some very wise person on here told me to do that. Sorry, I forgot who, but that worked great.

thank you for making that clear... i would have wound up with an electrified husband.
who, by the way laughed at me when I told him he needs to use a potato.
does he just push it in there? i'm just not grasping how this works...

I had this happen. I took a pair of pliers, opened them up wide and held them open against the sides of the bulb socket and unscrewed it that way.
I have used pinching pliers and grabbed onto part of the metal bottom.

the idea is if there are pieces of glass.. it will push into the potato letting him grip the bulb and then just unscrew it..
if there is absolutely NO glass... you may have to use pliers to grab the base of the bulb and turn it.... needle nose pliers work the best especially for tight spaces and small bulbs.

ok that answers that then. there was absolutely no glass - the bulb came out in-tact, it just like dislodged from the base. needlenose it is!
