Suggestions for summer vaca?

Hi all,

We're going to Texas for a wedding this long weekend, then going to London in Sept. for a few days for our year anniversary. Then we MIGHT go to Mexico for a few days in January. Despite this we were thinking of going somewhere else though this summer.

At first I was thinking of a cruise (both cruise virgins) but I think it's going to come to a lot of $ for a few days after hotel, air, and cruise. Then I was thinking of just going way out east but I don't know if that will feel like going away.

Any suggestions?

what about going to the Outer Banks (NC) for a long weekend or something. YOu can rent a little bungalow or stay in a hotel.

We go down to Carolina Beach NC (the very end of NC) at the end of August for a week every year. It's a pretty hefty drive but OMG we have so much fun... And the beaches are beautiful down there.
