Anyone have one? what is it, like an amnio? What week do u have it done?

had it done with DD. It generally has to be done before 13ish weeks. They can go in through your cervix or through the abdomen. My was through the cervix. They take a sample of the Chorinoic Villi from the placenta and do testing on it. It checks for genetic defects, not as many as an amnio, but close.

I had two- one through the cervix and one thrpugh the abdomen. Fm me if ypu have any questions.

I had one. How they go depends on the location of the placenta. I had mine done through the stomach
I have read that it should be done between the 11-13 weeks, but my high risk OB wanted only week 12.
Unlike the amnio, it doesn't test for neural tube defects (spina bifida), so you still need a blood test or amnio to test for that.
