Telling people the name
So DH & I decided we weren't going to tell people the names we like due to unwanted comments.
I go to the doc today and the doc & nurse ask us, so I say how we arn't telling people because we don't want to hear if they like it or not, but we will tell them since they don't know anyone we know, so I say my top 3.
Can you believe the nurse goes to my fave name, "Oh really? It doesn't go with your last name, it sounds too political, eh I don't really like it"
LOL R U SERIOUS.
So I told her she is not allowed to know if I change my mind, and she will probably ask me next month the same question and I will remind her of what she did.

lol oh wow. we're not telling anyone the name we chose either. however, i did manage to tell my hairdresser and the woman who did my prenatal massage lol.

I can't believe she said that! 
I would have liked to keep our name a secret but we had already told too many people our  name... if we had a  we would have tried to keep the name a secret.
Luckily everyone told us they loved our name (or at least they pretended to?) but they all criticized the girls names we had been considering and a lot of the middle names we are tossing around.  we will probably keep the middle name a secret just to avoid people's comments... and because the way we're going we may not decide until we're in the delivery room

I hate when people ask me this question... I just know they are going to either have some sort of comment to make or they will be like "oh" and then you know they don't like it.
Picking a name is stressful enough!
But we started telling some people the name (the real name that is.. not the Turtle Dove name.. haha). I sense that some people don't like my middle name.... but honestly it's not their kid so forget them! haha! Then there are other people who love the name and they make up for the not so nice responses.

IMO who cares what anyone says or thinks! As long as you and dh like the name. It's your child and people are overly opinionated on things that don't concern them!

We decided to tell people our names, knowing people would have their comments. We love the names and really try not to care what anyone says or thinks. Our response if someone doesn't like it is "well, when you meet the baby, you won't even care about the name."
The BEST comment was from my FIL. We told him we were set on our name but that the name was still up in the air. Well, we told him our name and his response was "Madeleine? That's a HORRIBLE name, absolutely horrible."

The only thing i can say is. People will have their opinions. Stupid as they are to say wether they like it or not. But peopel are that dumb. I say its your child your decision & nobody elses darn business. I blab my DD to be name all of teh time. I dont care if you dont like. We her parents do!!!!!!

yeah i made the mistake of telling people the name we chose for our LO. After a major incident, I started telling people that we haven't decided yet or have no idea at all. They still push tho.

Yeah people can be really rude with their opinions. DH and I have not told anyone, even our family. I know some members of the family are not happy about that but "who cares"!!!! Opinions are like _____(fill in the blank) ...everyone has one! We don't want to deal with that; chances are someone is not going to like the name and when is family, it is difficult to tell them to go to ____( fill in the blank  ) sometimes.

When I was pregnant last year, I told someone we liked the name Jack if it's a boy. The person told me she hopes I have a girl because she didn't like that name!!  
This time around we most likely won't be sharing names.... though knowing me I'll be too excited and crack!
