Total chaos in my neigborhood last night
We had the worse storm I have ever seen The skies were so black, the lightning and the thunder were constant. DS & I were home alone and he was fine until we heard an explosion, then all the lights went out. DS grabbed onto me and clung to me,wasnt crying but he was shaking. I look outside and see the transformer exploded and the live wires fell on a car parked under it. I called 911 and then the car exploded, 3 loud explosions. My neighbors came over to see if we needed anything and then there was another explosion, a second transformer blew.
My poor DH was trying to get home but because of the downed wires they werent letting anyone through. My DH had to jump a fence to get to our backyard.
DS had fallen asleep thankfully so we put him in bed with us, at about 2:30 he woke up screaming, I think he may have had a nightmare, by 3:00 he was still up, the lights came on by 3:15 and for some reason he settled down and went back to sleep.
My street looks like a war zone

No thank God, it was further down my block. People couldnt get out of their house because the lines were in front of their doors. Channel 7 news was up there this morning my DH said

omg...when i lived in hicksville, i experienced my first transformer explosion..It was right in front of our apartment.I was absolutely terrified thinking it was a bomb and that we were going to be blown to pieces....all the power went out immediately too..it was very scary..

WOW! The storms were insane here on SI. DH and I were watching out the window and I was afraid of the lightning. The bolts were coming down all over the place. Luckily, Alex was already asleep and slept through the whole thing.

so glad you guys are okay. Rossville took a beating! We just lost power for 30 minutes. But the lightening was outrageous

Yikes!! How scary!! I kept thinking my kids would be scared from all of the thunder but they slept right through it.  Meanwhile, if I try to sneak to the bathroom at 6 am, they jump up the moment they hear the toilet flush.

Holy cow!! I'm glad you guys were okay! The poor little guy probably didn't know what was happening..Even as a big kid, I'd be terrified I hate storms!
So cute about John jumping fences. Nothing could stop him from being with his family!
