weight gain at 25 weeks....
I just came back from the dr. appt and i'm up 24 lbs at 25 weeks!! I think I'm gaining a lb a week! Yikes! by the time I deliver, I will be up 40 lbs by the rate that I'm going! Yikes! So what's the average? My dr told me that between 20-35 lbs is normal!

25-35 lbs is normal for someone of average weight. But everyone is different. Some girls gain alot in the beginning and then it tapers off and some gain all their weight at the end. You can't go by other people. A lb. a week is what the book says is normal.

Re: weight gain at 25 weeks....
ill be 25 weeks tomorrow. according my own measurements ive gained 17lbs. i went to the doctor today and she made me weigh twice cause she thought she misread it the first time. she said it was a big difference from my last appt which was 5w ago . i lost 3lbs in the first tri so all of the weight has come very recently.

i am up 9 lbs. total and I am 24 weeks. however, i am overweight to begin with, so i think it's a good thing that i haven't gained much weight yet.

I'm overweight to begin with, too, so I'm happy that - at 18 weeks - I'm actually exactly the same as before I got pregnant. My doc is happy that I'm keeping steady, but my appetite is back and pretty strong now so I'm afraid that number will just keep going up, up, up!
The good thing is that I tend to get full REALLY quickly these days!

Re: weight gain at 25 weeks....
I just posted the other day about my rapid weight gain. I hadn't been checing the scale bc I figured if there was a problem, then the Dr. would let me know. Well he let me know - 26 weeks and I'm up about 30lbs already . He said my goal should have been to gain 25-35 the whole pregnancy.
Honestly, after venting on here and talking to some close friends and family, I have calmed down a bit over this. I know that I have not been binge eating and I have been fairly consistent with healthy eating and exercise. Yes, I had my share of treats (what preggo doesn't?) and yes, I can totally be more pro-active when it comes to exercise and nutrition, but I really don't think I have been that bad. Plus, I definitely have a lot of swelling and water retention the past couple of weeks, so I'm certain a lot of the weight gain is attributed to that. I'm going to be a lot more careful now, for the remainder of my pregnancy, but if my Glucose test comes back ok, then I am going to ease up a bit on myself.
It's true what a lot of people say. Everyone's body responds to pregnancy different. As long as you are making the right choices and not going overboard, I don't think it's worth beating yourself up over. My doctor had me freaked out that my baby was going to end up being enormous and that I would have tough labor, but it's still too early to tell IMO.

Re: weight gain at 25 weeks....
Every doctor says something different about what is ideal. However, I feel whatever it is it is...Your body is doing what it needs to develop a healthy baby. My doctor yelled at me during my last visit because I am up 26 lbs at 30 weeks. She likes a total weight gain of 20-25 for your whole pregnancy! I laughed inside and just "yes'd" to death. I do not think 26 lbs is that bad...But she says you gain 5 lbs without a doubt during your last month because the baby gains alot of weight during that time....so I am looking at over 30 lbs at the end of this whole thing which is a big no no to her...whatever!!!

Re: weight gain at 25 weeks....
funny you bring this up because i went to the dr this past tuesday but i saw a diff doc since mine was called to the hospital. i'm up 8lbs at 25 weeks and his exact words were "i see you've put on a significant amount of weight since the last time you were here" here i am thinking 8lbs at 25 weeks was great. he then followed itup with a whole speech about how they prefer not to gain more than 30 and i guess he figured at the rate im going that i would surpass that. i got a little worried but then realized that like others said...your body will do what it has to do. i heard 25-35 is average but i think it also depends on your starting weight before

Re: weight gain at 25 weeks....
I'm up 20 pounds but I'm having . When I went to the doctors last week and saw a different doctor from the practice, I asked him if I wasn't gaining enough weight. Since the twins are almost 2 pounds each, he said I have nothing to worry about...CloudNine, do you go to LI Women's Healthcare??
