Is it too much to ask!!!

Is it too much to ask for parents to actually watch their children and make sure that they are behaving!!!
I'm sorry for venting, but Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
It seems no matter what we are doing.... going to basketball practice, T-ball games, Bingo night at school, etc., ALOT of the parents just let their kids run wild, not paying attention to them and not saying a thing while they are wrestling with another kid, or slapping another kid in the face with their baseball mitt!! Sometimes the parents even find it funny that their kid is such a royal pain in the a$$... W T F!!!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon These are the same parents that cannot understand why their child doesn't listen and why they turn into a juvenile delinquentChat Icon Chat Icon
Sorry, vent over Chat Icon

I know! Last week we took the kids to the Holtsville Ecology Site. When we were at the playground, a little boy kicked Miranda and then pushed her to the ground! His mother just stood there, yapping away on her cell phone.Chat Icon

No, it is NOT to much to ask... My folks would have NEVER tolerated behavior like that nor will DH and I with our DD.

Re: Is it too much to ask!!!

I always feel like "I" am the odd one out because I am the one yelling at my kids to behave. Everyone else is stressless and ignoring their kids while my blood pressure is so high so I make sure they are good!!

I see some of these women and they just look soooo relaxed. I wonder if it EVER bothers them that their kids are brats!!

Yes! I felt like grabbing him by the ear, dragging him over to her and telling her that her bratty son needed more attention than her phone call. I wonder how bad its going to be when they start school.

I don't think it does..they are too wrapped up with their social lives, etc. that they could care less what's going on with their kids, etc. Or they're hoping someone else will watch their kidChat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I've seen alot of that recentlyChat Icon I feel like a tyrant...I'm all over my kidChat Icon

I'm SOOO glad that I am not the only one feeling this way! It's just sooo sad that the parents are more worried about themselves than their children!Chat Icon

Re: Is it too much to ask!!!

We had a garage sale this past weekend and a mother let her kids run wild all over my property. They threw around all the toys, even broke one (which I noticed after the left, because she would have bought that toy Chat Icon ), they snatched a ball my son was playing with and wouldn't let him play.

My parents would have not gone for that when I was a kid. Funny how things change with time.
