SCAL and MTC owners - Provocraft lawsuit info

FYI for those that use SCAL and MTC to cut to the Provocraft's cricut.

SCAL is still pending, but MTC is banned from selling software with "cut to cricut" or making updates that include "cut to cricut". Plus, if you have one of the 600 copies of the cartridge back-up feature, they are ordered to get it back. If you want to continue using these programs, the cricut message boards suggest NOT updating your cricut firmware. If they want to, Provocraft could prevent them from working within one of their updates.
I use both my gypsy and MTC almost every day. I'm pretty upset at PC.

Thank you for posting these articles. I came across something about this yesterday afternoon but forgot to look into it more.

PC Sux. They should have developed their own software - especially for fonts - and these programs wouldn't be as wildly popular as they are now. Or perhaps they are getting ready to release a program that will do the same thing.

I have a bug, an expression & a gypsy plus MTC. (clearly I have an issue ). I'll one one machine for cricut/PC cuts. And the other for MTC and not update either one. I just have to decide which.

MTC settled the case by agreeing to stop. I read the papers PC filed against SCAL today. I don't know if the claims are true about SCAL breaking the Design Studio code, but from what I'm reading in the scrap community, the damage in lost sales claims are total BS.

I am a SCAL user and I have to say this is sooo ridiculous. Here's an idea to PC stop effing over your customers, and develop better software instead of charging 90 bucks for a cartridge.
