Breech baby at 31 weeks?
Just found out my baby is now breech! Doctor says there is plenty of time for him to turn still... Or he can manually turn him at 36 weeks. Is this very painful? Anyone have experience with a baby turning on it's own late in pregnancy?

Re: Breech baby at 31 weeks?
My friends baby was breech at 30w and the baby turned naturally by week 34.
I think the baby still has time.

Re: Breech baby at 31 weeks?
My DD was breech at 31/32 weeks. She turned at like 36/37 weeks. My dr said there is a very small % of babies who are born breech and most babies turn toward the last 2/3 weeks.

Re: Breech baby at 31 weeks?
My son was breech around that time.
We opted not to have a version because, as a first time mom, the chances of it working were very slim. Also, if it worked there was always a chance that he would go back to breech. My husband and I also weren't confortable with why the version would be done in the hospital... we didn't like that there was a chance it would send me into pre-term labor. We scheduled a c-section and if he turned on his own, then great. He never did so I ended up with a CS.
If this is your second child, a version might work for you since your uterus has a little more stretch to it than a first time mom.
Best thing to do is discuss ALL of your options with your Dr.

I had a friend whose baby was breech all the way up to 37 weeks. She flipped on her own.

Re: Breech baby at 31 weeks?
I was also breech at 31 weeks and she flipped at around 34-35 weeks. I was also told that it is not common practice anymore to try to turn the baby because it is very painful and not entirely safe for the baby.

Re: Breech baby at 31 weeks?
My baby was breech at 32 weeks and turned by 34. I think they can turn up until 37 weeks or so. Your baby will most likely turn soon

Re: Breech baby at 31 weeks?
My son was breeched and never flipped. So really anything can happen. What I will say is that my doctor was 100% against an inversion. They are very risky and can potentially be very painful - and are NOT guaranteed to work.

Re: Breech baby at 31 weeks?
DS was breech from 28 weeks on and never turned. I had a version at 37 weeks and it didn't work, but really wasn't terrible. It was uncomfortable but I wouldn't say it was painful. I was glad I tried, but ended up with a c/s at 39 weeks.

Re: Breech baby at 31 weeks?
DS was breech at 34 weeks but by 36 had shifted and trust me if he had enough from to shift most babies will as well ! (DS was born at 9lbs 14oz and 22.5 inches!!!!!)
Also in terms of a version. Personally I wouldnt do one. First it is uncomfortable. Second there is some risk involved (cord could wrap around the baby's neck) and thrid there is NO guarantee baby will stay in the correct position. In fact I think its more likely baby will shift again....

Re: Breech baby at 31 weeks?
Nugget was breech at 32 weeks, and by 36 he had flipped over.
When my mom was pregnant with my brother he was breech right up until 41 weeks and then he flipped
