Anybody make their own baby food?
Tell me about it.
Katie is one stage 1 so I am looking for ideas.

I've made some with the food mill --- Emily is on more variety though because she's a little bit older. But basically all you need to do is steam whatever you want to make, put it in the food mill or blender, and I add white grape juice (from gerber) t make it softer.

I have the Magic Bullet. It it like a small very powerful blender. I use it to blend all sorts of fruits, chicken and veggies. It's great and easy to clean up.

I make my own. They eat winter squash, carrots, green beans, peas, mango, acorn squash, banana, avocado, sweet potatoes. I steam everything then put it in the blender with some filtered water to get it ot the right consistency.

Re: Anybody make their own baby food?
I think if it is something like apples, pears, etc. that can be hard that you should steam the fruit too but it may not be necessary with bananas.
You can put anything in!!! We have done veggies like squash, carrots, peas, and then combinations like blueberries and bananas and also chicken and avacado. too bad i used the chicken from our dinner and it had some spices on it and it freaked her out!! Next time I'll make it plain!!

Re: Anybody make their own baby food?
I thought it was going to be more of a pain in the tush to make the food, so I thought I would just buy it. But in actuality it only took me like 20 minutes (not including steaming time) Now I just hope that he likes it!!!

Re: Anybody make their own baby food?
Super Baby Food Book..it was my bible. I made 90% of Molly's food and got everything from that book. Just mash up an avacodo..or mash up a bannana. Boil or bake a sweet potatoe, put it in the processor and then freeze in ice cube trays.
