here's the thing with my actual story.. i didn't write it all out on the other thread you started.
I got pregnant on my HM in Nov of 09. My skin broke out bad (cystic!!!)!! Then less than 3 months in I had a mc and a DNC. My skin got WORSE and WORSE as the months after that went on. It didn't stop. each month was worse than the last month... and I'm not just talking about regular acne... cystic also! We were TTC and I was a mess the entire time.
Now I got pregnant again in Sept/Oct 2010.... and my skin was still bad. It would get better and then worse. and go back and forth. As of lately it's be progressively getting better. I'm 23 weeks along with a girl.
I'm not sure I believe the hype that one sex brings on more acne than the other.... I think it's the hormones overall that can really mess your skin up!!!!

Gender has nothing to do with acne. That old wives tale is so dumb. It's hormones that affect it. I go though phases with my skin. Some days its bad, other days it's super clear. My skin actually is clearing up as I'm at the end of my pregnancy. It looks healthy and shiny!!!!

I got more acne and I'm having a girl. But I agree, it's just a wives tale. My friends skin broke out bad too and she had a boy.

Here is how it always is for me:
break out SUPER BAD in the beginning - including on the chest - and then it clears up and my skin is glowing the rest of pregnancy.

Some experience acne while others do not. But here is something that one can do that will help. Nicotinamide applied topically is great at keeping acne away and skin healthy. Nicotinamide is also known as Vit B3. Available as nicotinamide pads and cream. As always consult your doctor before starting anything.

I agree with the wives tale. When I was pregnant with DS I had terrible acne the first 4 months or so. This time I have not had any at all and I am having a girl.

I'm having a boy & I have had acne since about 6 or 7 weeks. They are these tiny small pimples that are KILLING ME!
I'm hoping this clears up soon and I start glowing!
