Closing Date and Freaking Out
My lawyer called on Monday and said my buyer wants to push our closing date up - presently scheduled for on or about April 15 - so I gave a few options on what works for us. Then I never heard back. I called my lawyer today to follow up and they thought it was also strange that we had not heard back - especially since the buyer initiated it. It's an all cash deal and the title cleared, etc so there are no problems whatsoever legally. They said they'd call the buyer's lawyer to see what the deal is (I even offered to push the closing date up closer than what I originally said would work today.) That was at 9am. It is now 11:15 and I am freaking out!!!! Haven't heard anything.
I want to sign for a new place but don't feel comfortable doing so without a closing date set. Help me calm down please!! Do you think the offer could be falling through? We're so close!
