What would you girls do...
We were suppose to go away for our "babymoon" to LA during my 25th week. Well that has all changed and the only time we can go now is between my 31 & 32w. I spoke to my Dr. and he said its fine for me to go- its just that I have to constantly get up and walk around on the plane, which I dont mind doing it all. Im just a little nervous about the cabin & air pressure.
So if it were you...what would you do? Go on the trip or just hold off until is born and plan a family vaca down the road?
Thanks

Re: What would you girls do...
We are 99% taking a babymoon to Ireland and I just spoke to my OB about it again this morning. They told me that their policy is flying is OK up to 5 weeks before your EDD as long as you dont have complications and gave me the go-ahead to do Ireland leaving 24w and returning 25.5w with no concerns. (Just the same thing they told you: walk every hour and drink LOTS of water on the flight).
That said, I'm not 100% sure how I'd feel going as late as you would be. There is great medical care in LA and you are unlikely to go into labor that early but it's a long flight and a long way from home. I'm still on the fence about whether I will go to my BIL's wedding at 32.5w (2.5 hour flight) and will probably decide last minute, even though I currently have clearance from my OB.
I guess you could always wait it out and see how you feel as it gets closer, but is there any way you could take the trip earlier or go somewhere closer?

Re: What would you girls do...
Personally, I wouldn't fly that late...but I'm a bit paranoid about that kind of thing.
I'd probably either opt to take a family vacation after, or if you have someone who could watch , take a "reconnection" trip just you and DH after is born. (I know a lot of people don't want to leave DC, and I get that. I am one of those people that as long as you have a trusted someone to watch DC, reconnecting as a couple is SO important. DH and I went away for a weekend when DD was 2 1/2 months, and though I missed her like CRAZY, it was so good for us! We were only in PA though...)

Re: What would you girls do...
I just turned 32 weeks and have had a complicated free pregnancy and remained relatively active. I wouldn't be so concerned about going into labor early, but I would not want to sit on a plane for 5+hours. I'm just not that comfortable sitting for extended periods of time. I wouldn't be opposed to going somewhere that had a shorter flight like Florida, but a long plane ride just wouldn't be fun for me right now.

I wouldn't, i'm not sure how far along you are, but things can come up. I would avoid a trip like that until after... jmo

Re: What would you girls do...
Ok thanks so much girls- I think Ive made up my mind..NOT going! Didnt even think of how uncomfortable Id be on the plane for 5 hours. I totally agree with the PP who mentioned a reconnect vacation, my mom has even offered to watch her so I think we'll def take her up on her offer.
