Family Vacation

Does anyone have any good family vacation spots they can recommend? We are looking into renting a house in the outer banks, but are open to other ideas.

The family vacation would include, myself & DH, my parents, grandmother, brother and his wife and two little girls.

Charleston, SC. My family has gone for the past 5 years and we love it. You have the beach, of course, and then lots for other people to do. They have an aquarium, a great Children's Museum for the little ones, lots of tours/carriage rides, lots of historical places to visit, great shopping, etc. The food is great, too! It's a great place for people with various interests, there's something for everyone.

We've always stayed on the Isle of Palms and it's been great. It's easy to learn your way around, and you can get into downtown Charleston in about 20 minutes.

We stayed in Condos for a few years before my nephew was born, and last year we stayed in a house that was just a short walk to the beach. My friends have rented from Island Realty for years and like them, they usually rent HUGE houses right on the beach.

We just rented a house in Lake George for August. I used homeaway.com I've always had good luck with them.
