I grieved my taxes or so I hope I did
Last year I filled out all the paperwork to grieve the assessment value of our home. We got something in the mail show that the assessed value has dropped. How do I find out about our taxes?

Do you live in Nassau? If so we all got the same letter about the assessed value. They send one every year.
They will notify you separately if you won your grievance. You can check your taxes on mynassauproperty.com.

I live in Suffolk (Huntington) and it shows my full value of my home went down but my uniform % of value went up.
I grieved my taxes and am awaiting a court date.

Yes, I live in Nassau. I checked on the website but didn't see anything about the grievance. Our taxes reflect our Basic Star discount but that's it. Last year our letter said $889 and now it's $871. I have no idea what that means.

Re: I grieved my taxes or so I hope I did
Ok - so I'm guessing you grieved your 2010/11 assessment.
The new assessments that were just published on mynassauproperty are the 2011/12 TENTATIVE assessments. Each year is treated independently. The drop in your 2011/12 tentative assessment has nothing to do with your grievance. Most assessments went down for the 2011/12 tax year.
In Nassau, they are still hearing the 2010/11 small claims complaints. If you were successful in challenging your assessment, you either would have been notified of a hearing date or gotten a change of assessment notice for 2010/11 in the mail.

Well we got the letter and we were denied. Can someone recommend an attorney we can contact ASAP?
