Went for the 1 hour test...
So I went for my 1 hour Glucose test at Quest, (had an appointment & everything), and I get there, they give me the drink right away, and tell me to let them know when I take my last sip, and they will draw my blood an hour later. An hour goes by and I get up to tell them, and the girl at the desk tells me to give them a minute....5 more minutes go by,so I get up again, and she tells me I have to find the girl who helped me...well 1 girl gave me the drink and disappeared, a different girl told me what time to come up to get drawn. I explain this, and she gets super annoyed and sends me to a room where the girl is "on lunch". She reluctantly draws my blood, but at least 10minutes had past since my 1 hour was up. Will this matter???
Also, they made me drink 10 ounces (I thought it was less but could be wrong), and they didn't tell me I had to dink it within a certain amt of time, even when I asked if I needed to, all she said was "dont make yourself sick"...so I took 10 minutes to drink it b/c I had to choke it down.
Im starting to hate Quest Lab!

10 minutes isn't going to matter.
But I would be upset that everyone at the front desk didn't know why you were there.
When I went for mine, everyone knew why I was there...but then again I went to Sunrise Medical

Maybe next time I will try a different Quest Lab. Oh, and the woman who drew my blood was out front smoking a cigarette 15 minutes before...gross!
Does anyone know if it matters that it took me 10 minutes to finish the drink?

I don't think it does matter...it took me 5 minutes to get it down...they took my blood an hour later and I still failed.
They will take your blood 1 hour from the time you finish drinking it

ew, i don't like how they treated you. What the heck? I'm sure that time frame won't matter though. Don't stress yourself out about it

10 minutes doesn't matter. I think they drew my blood after 1 hr and 15 minutes. I had to pester them to do it as well. They are very disorganized it seems.

They told me I had to drink the entire thing within 5 minutes. Since it took you 10 minutes to drink it, maybe it's good you didn't get your blood drawn until 1 hr 10 min?
If you're borderline, they'll make you take the 3-hour. You either have GD or you don't, so hopefully those little discrepancies won't make much of a difference. They probably have a window as far as doing the tests just in case. I remember with mine, I had my blood drawn about 5 minutes before the hour was up and it didn't make a difference.
