Q re: NEwborn digital files
This might be stupid question, but what can you do with the digital cd from newborn photos? I am deciding which photog to use and what package to get. IF the images are copyrighted what can you do with them? I assume you can't print any of the images yourself from the CD, but can you upload them to Fbook or anything? Just wondering what people do with their digital CD. So far I like LExi-Bella, Summer Lyn seems too expensive IMO. TIA!

same with me. i plan on using the cd to make an album, print out pics to hang up around the house, and make the birth announcements.

Re: Q re: NEwborn digital files
There is a big difference between transferring copyright and allowing print permission. Most photographers maintain copyright to the images since they are the artists who created the art. This means they own the images and you can't sell them or alter them etc. A lot, not all, photographers who give out CDs or digital files give you a personal print release which basically means you can print to your hearts content and share the images on social networking sights as long as you don't alter them or make a profit out of them. A lot of people think that when they get a CD that they now own the images and that copyright has been transferred to them but in reality all they have been given is a print release for personal usage. You should check with each person individually.
Most of the time when you see a photographer transferring copyright is for example if they shot a celebrity wedding or event. The client pays a hefty price to but the copyright of the images and to take over ownership instead of the photographer. Pink, the artist bought copyright from her wedding photographer for all of her images and then turned around and sold the exclusive first look into her wedding to people magazine for a million dollars. The only way she could do this was because she bought the copyright from the photographer. Hope this makes sense for you or anyone else wondering about this stuff!
