Sharp pain?
Anyone ever get a sharp pain every few minutes or so in the middle to upper tummy area on the left side? I'm waiting for the OBs office to call, but thought I'd ask here also. I had it yesterday, but it seemed to go away last night. I thought maybe it was because I had to go to the bathroom (#2). This morning it's back. I went to the bathroom this morning so I don't think it's that anymore. I Googled it (I know - dumb move) and the only pain I see it relating to is preeclampsia, but I have none of the other symptoms. It's the area right above where the baby is so I was thinking maybe it could be growing pains.

Re: Sharp pain?
I wouldn't worry too much. I had a lot of random pains and they ended up being nothing. I remember one in particular kind of scared me because it was sharp & would kinda stop me in my tracks (it was in the lower abdominal area though) and ended up it was just the ligaments stretching. I think it's good for you to talk to you Dr either way, but I'm sure it's nothing serious.

Re: Sharp pain?
I have sharp pains under my boobs and I have had it for weeks - I googoled as you did and freaked out! But I have had it for weeks now and I had it checked out by the OB and my general practioner and had sonos for it and it is just muscles that are tearing I am sure everything is fine - I know a lot of girls get random pains here and there

Re: Sharp pain?
It might just be ligament pains. I got them a lot on my left side. GL

Re: Sharp pain?
It sounds like round ligament pain. It's very normal.

Re: Sharp pain?
I've had it too, and I'm 13 weeks. It's not round ligament pain - they said the way you can tell round ligament pain is it happens along your bikini line.
I think it's just muscles stretching and pulling. Sometimes my stomach feels like I've done 100 crunches (and I really, really haven't!!). I have a fetal doppler and occasionally check the baby's hb after feeling these pains, and it's always right where it should be. So it must be ok!

Re: Sharp pain?
I have been having this for the past few weeks but on my right side in my rib cage. It only happens when I am sitting and it is in a very small concentrated area. It was so painful last week when I was commuting home I called the doctors emergency number from the train. He told me it doesn't sound like anything to worry about. The pain is less severe now but still comes when I am siting at work for a long time. The pain is sometimes accompanied with extreme pressure, such a odd feeling. Feel better!

Re: Sharp pain?
I've had them come and go on different occasions.
One was during a walk with DS, I think it was a result of over extending myself.
The other night I had it when I went to move. I think maybe one of the babies hit a nerve or something.
I haven't really given it too much thought. As long as the pain passes I assume its just part of the "growing" pains.
