Pushy Pratice
Ok so...dh and myself have decided that we want to know the sex of the baby, even though it TOTALLY doesn't matter at all bc god willing we'll have another shot and maybe then we'll be more picky (but even then I doubt it lol) I detest suprises its a known fact and I figure if I can know I want to.
Now heres the sitch...my entire pratice is anti finding out, like its all I've heard everytime I go...You're not going to cheat and find out right??!! So much so dh has been reconsidering (which has been silently annoying me) but I have a feeling they will be able to tell at my next appt but will hold out on me till my level 2 bc they don't like telling. How do I say I want to know. end of story. without sounding nasty?

Re: Pushy Pratice
Don't give into your wishes because of the ideas of the practice.
If it were me... i'd just be myself and say... Yes I'm cheating because I really need to know and can't wait so I have every intention of finding out.
You can say that you want to know the sex without an attitude and just say your thought on the matter. it doesn't have to sound mean or abrasive.
personally i think it's poor taste for the practice to be pushing you to not find out.
who exactly is pushy about it? the receptionists, nurses, doctors or technicians?

The Drs for the most part, I was nice but firm yesterday but it just didn't feel like the got the picture. I mean I'm going to find out, but I feel like once I said I wanted to it should have been left alone end of discussion. But it wasn't.

Re: Pushy Pratice
I would say MYOB and also tell them to look up the word cheating. . that just seems odd - everyone should have the right to make this decision how they like..
cheat
1.to defraud; swindle: 2.to deceive; influence by fraud: 3. to practice fraud or deceit: 4. to violate rules or regulations: 5. to take an examination or test in a dishonest way, as by improper access to answers.

Re: Pushy Pratice
why do they even care if you want to know or not? it's your choice! and "cheat" is definitely not the right word to use lol

Re: Pushy Pratice
Ok first, they're idiots for using the word "cheat".
Secondly, they're being highly unprofessional by pushing you to do/not do anything that isn't directly related to you or your baby's well-being.
I'd tell them it's not their decision to make for you and that you're really upset that they would even try to sway you one way or the other. And I wouldn't care one iota to be nice about it.
