Those that are having a girl...
Did you "try" and plan it that way?
How do I explain...and don't take it the wrong way because I would love either but I'm curious.
They have all these methods to "try" and have a girl. For instance, you should BD 3-5 day prior to "o" day for a better chance OR did you use the chinese calendar and base it off of that.
Now I know these are both a 50/50 chance but I wanted to know if anyone DID follow one of these and it was a girl.

we didn't "try" for a girl...I didn't even hear about the ways to "try" for a girl until after. next time around we might "try" for a boy

Ok thank you.
I hope my question wasn't insulting. I was just looking through the internet and I just saw a few different theories for having a girl/boy so I thought I'd ask if anyone found them to be true.

not insulting...people were talking about ways to try - did you see that episode of How I Met Your Mother - and one of my co-workers said that she tried for the girl doing one of those things and was successful - the conversations just never happened around me when I was TTC just after the fact...

I find it interesting. I might try one of the methods and see what happens. I have 2 DS and love there dearly and would love to have a 3rd son but I wouldn't mind a girl either  We're not ready to have another child yet (may be another year) but I have such bad baby fever that I can't stop thinking about it.
So I figure I'd try one of these methods and whatever I have I'd be happy anyway. Baby Fever is so awful...in a good way!

I had an IUI so I don't believe in these methods at all. IUIs are timed perfectly with ovulation, so if these theories were to hold true, then all IUI babies would boys.

We are team  and it's still too soon anyway to find out if we wanted so I don't know if we are having a girl or not. As for "trying", we were just winging it and enjoying not holding back so who knows what we're having.
If we do have a girl this time and if we are blessed in the future to have a second, then I think we may "try" to have a boy or vice versa. But either way, we are just happy and thankful for whatever we get.
I do believe (my own theory) that girls are more common in surprise pregnancies. I was a surprise, friends of ours had a girl a few years before they officially wanted to TTC, my cousin had a girl when they followed the "we can try and see what happens" method. I'm sure there are plenty of boy surprises though. Just based on my family and friends, it seems those that were really trying had boys and those that winged it or weren't trying had girls. I will update this in about 5 months to see what our outcome is by winging it.

We originally wanted to "try" for a girl by BDing before O. But once we knew I was about to O (I feel ovulation, didn't use OPKs or anything) we threw that idea to the wayside and decided we just wanted to be pregnant and whatever we got we'd be happy with.
Well, wound up pregnant with twin girls.
With my first pregnancy I am pretty sure I conceived the morning of ovulation. Again, I can feel myself ovulate. And we had a boy.
This time we BD'd day 2 days before O, and I think day of O and day after O. So I actually have no idea when I conceived.
