I actually just stopped using ours and Nicholas is 6 months old. I believe the weight limit is 20lb on most of them. He reached the length limit Chat Icon and it was time to move him to his crib.

DD was in hers until around 3.5 months -- she just didn't look comfy anymore.

ETA: there are weight & height restrictions on each model bassinet i believe.

Re: repost from pregnancy - bassinet use

ok good. I was hoping a few people would say they used them for 5 or 6 mths, I am having a dormer done on our house and her room wont be done for a few mths. was hoping to leave her in the bassinet rather than have to put a big huge crib in our room.

so..as long as she is still within weight limits of the basinet, it is ok to use to for 5 or 6 mths???

My pediatrican said when they start to roll over they should be taken out. Joseph was in until 3 months - and then..oh who am I kidding...he was in bed with us the entire time. His bassinet had a changing pad so I didn't have to go far to change him in the middle of the night.

Maddie was in until about 4 months & then I moved her to a crib.

We never ended up using ours. Emily would only sleep in the bouncer seat for the first 2.5 months and then we moved her to the crib.

Re: repost from pregnancy - bassinet use

Once the baby starts rolling over, a bassinet isn't safe anymore. Count on between 4-6 months.

I heard this too. DD is still in hers for half the night (12:00- on) and we are starting to give it up. She is 3 1/2 months

Not sure - I would say as long as he/she is comfortable. My son stayed in his cradle for 3 months, he loved it. I moved him because he was just getting to big for it and would wind up all squished in the corner.

My weight limit was 15 lbs. Kevin was past that by his 3 months dr visit and he was only born at 7lbs 2oz. I moved him at 12 weeks because I wanted him to transition before I went back to work but by that point there wasn't much room for himin there anyway - lenght wise too.

DS was in it for 2 months, then grew out of it. He got to be to long and was not comfy anymore for him.
