Need your opinions...
Tonight my DH and I are attending a holiday party at a friends house. This friend isn't a close friend, but she's not just an acquaintance either. We're still kind of establishing the friendship, if that makes sense. (Our DDs went to preschool together last year and now attend gymnastics together.)
I was going to wear these over the knee boots with a pair of skinny jeans and casual Victoria's Secret fitted sweater:
My fear is that I'm going to look overdressed or too "sexy" because this couple is pretty casual, as is another couple I know that will be there. My DH said "Who cares!? Wear what you want." BUT, he also LOVES those boots on me, so he's biased (and he's also very confident and doesn't give a crap what other people think, unlike me.  ) The other thing is that these friends have never seen me dressed up (which I love to do and try to do as often as possible) so I'm nervous about what their response is going to be.
Would you guys wear what you want/like?
or
Do you take how others will be dressed or will be thinking into consideration?
What do you guys think? Should I wear the boots or go with a more casual/subtle pair?

Totally wear those boots!! They are hot! Who cares! I think with what you plan on wearing them with is perfect.
As long as your are comfortable with the outfit, wear it.

I think as long as the rest of your outfit is toned down (which from your description it is...) that you could TOTALLY WEAR those boots! Love them!!!

I would wear them!
It's a party!!! It would be different if she saw you at gymnastics or dropping your DD off at school in them
