Mine was wonderful even though it was kinda quiet. Dh made me breakfest took care of baby while I steralized some bottles and took a shower then we went to my moms to say hi and then to my in-laws. And Luka got me tickets to see Madonna on June 28th, I will be going with my 2 SIL and my MIL Chat Icon .

Quiet but lovely. Chat Icon

We went out for breakfast, I lounged around doing nothing, and I got very thoughtful gifts from DH, "from the baby", and from my MIL.

Re: How was everyone's mothers day?

Mine was hectic but it was nice. I decided that I wanted to go to my mom's house and then to see my MIL and then we went out to dinner. Now I'm just relaxing while DH takes care of stuff around the house.

Re: How was everyone's mothers day?

Mine actually turned out to be realy nice. We went to brunch with my side of the family and it was nice to have all of the cousins and new moms together, then we went to verizon and got me a new cell phone which is awesome bcause mine has been really working poorly for months now and then Emily ate it on Friday and it was totally fried, and then we went out to a delicious dinner at Cozymel's. It was a busy day and we are all SOOO tired but it was a really good Mother's Day and my DH came through!!! I hope everyone had a great day!

Re: How was everyone's mothers day?

Mine was great- nothing went as planned.... and we really didnt do anything... but I still had a great day...

DH had planned a picnic over by the fighter jet statue thing (we call it our plane- because when we were dating that was our "make-out" spot Chat Icon ) But because of the weather it kinda got cancelled...

Dh made breakfast- and cleaned up (which is a big deal-since he cleans nothing!)

I finshed up the mothers day gifts we made together...took a shower...

We were planning on going to dinner and then stopping by my MIL and mothers....

On the way to my MIL- DH suggests asking my mom to come to dinner with us.... This was so special to me- (my mom was pretty much alone today- since my dads away- and my 2 brothers were working.... and I of couse wanted to invite my mom... but felt bad inviting her and not my MIL... so I left it- at dinner just us- and visting the 2 moms) I didnt hint at it- or anything... he knew it would make me happy (and her happy as well) and when he suggested it- something so simple- it made my day...

Anyways- we ended up not going to dinner, and just ordering in (because the baby was so overdue for a nap and cranky) So we had dinner with my mom, and just relaxed...

So-thats basically that- nothing out of this world, but truely a special day for me!

Re: How was everyone's mothers day?

Mine was nice, Julia and I woke up at 9:30, we probably would of sleeped later but DH made me breakfast in bed, so he woke us up.

Then I opened my cards and gift, which was a beautiful heart locket, with Julia pic in it.

Then got ready to go to my In-laws for a BBQ at 3:00, then had to leave at 5 to go to dinner w/ my family. Had a nice day! Chat Icon

Mine was very nice! I slept in a bit, woke up and got my presents, which I loved! Went to a late breakfast with MIL, and then hung out at home while DH went to my moms to prepare dinner with my step-dad for all of us!!
Not to mention that he was baking for hours last night...he made 3 DELICIOUS desserts from total scratch for me, my mom, my sister and my grandmaChat Icon

It was good. I had brunch with my mom, my uncle and my grandma at her nursing home, and then came home and didn't have to do anything, DH took care of Sarah all day! I just got to play. Chat Icon

And I got the best gift, Sarah started sleeping in her new room in the new crib last night and it didn't go well, but today for her naps and bedtime she went right down! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: How was everyone's mothers day?

My Mother's day was great but bittersweet. Unfortunately, My father has been in the hospital unexpectedly since Thursday and will probably be in for a couple of more days so he was not able to be with us to celebrate Mother's day. However, because he is in the hospital, my brother flew in from Houston and was able to celebrate with us. So my brother came with us to swimming with Jacob and then My DH surprised me with going to the Carltun for brunch ( which was so amazing) with my mother, brother, his mom and step dad and sister. After that we spent the rest of the day visting my father in the hospital...

Day was as good as can be with a 1 week old and a 2 year old. I got to sleep in until 10 a.m. (but I won't tell you how many times I was up at night). Dan made me homemade waffles with strawberries and whipped cream (I got pics of Andrew helping). We spent the day with my IL's and had a nice time overall. I didn't have to cook and both my kids were good.

Re: How was everyone's mothers day?

What a great day! DH really did good for making my 1st Mother's Day a special one. He got the baby this morning and let me sleep in till 9:30 am Chat Icon When I went out into the living room to see what they were up too, DH had already dressed DS in the cutest "onesie" It said "I "heart" Mom" on it. I have a pic, so you will see. Then he ran out to get us some bagels and coffee. Then he gave me a card from DS and some gifts and the best one of all was a charm of a baby boy with DS birth stone in the center, on a white gold chain. Loved it! We lounged around, watched a movie and then went for a walk with the baby. When we got back, he made us lunch. Surprised me with a nice "Mexican Fiesta"- love Mexican.... Con't just to lounge and then tonight ordered in Chinese to watch the sopranos. It couldn't have gone better. I sure hope all you ladies enjoyed your Mothers Day. Chat Icon

Re: How was everyone's mothers day?

Ours was busy. DH, DS, and I went out to lunch in the morning, because DH had to go to work in the afternoon. DH gave me a gorgeous bracelet and a beautiful card. I was thrilled.
After he left for work, DS and I headed to my Mom's, had pizza, and exchanged gifts. I got the Baby Bjorn (for baby #2), which I'm very happy with and a frame with a picture of DS and I that says "I love mommy".
Then, we met the IL's at a diner near them and went to their house afterwards. I got beautiful flowers from MIL. Overall, it was a lovely day. Chat Icon

Aren't DH's great? I was up at 6:30 while DH slept until 10:30. He would've slept later, but I woke him up and asked "Weren't you going to spend time with me before you went to work?" Chat Icon He came through with the bracelet, but still. He was cranky all day, because I "made" him get up.

I guess I'll have to show him what to do on Father's Day. Chat Icon

Re: How was everyone's mothers day?

It was fine, nothing really memorable. I was up at 6am with Nate and fed him. DH finally took him downstairs at 8:30am and I slept til 10am. DH made breakfast. I give him effort for trying bc he also cooked dinner - lamb chops, mashed potatos, carrots, and green beans. We brought it over to his parents house to eat bc I haven't been a very good housekeeper since working. After dinner around 8pm, I finally get my cards. I just wished he would have been a little more sentimental about it. He expects everyone to make a big deal about all holidays and special days related to him, but he seems to gloss over my special days. I've learned not to have big expectations, so that if I even get a card then it's a good day.

My mother's day was great - even though i was hosting dinner for 8 people at our house. Dh feed Julia at 4 am and again at 8 am, gave the baby a bath etc while I prepared dinner. -He then surprised me with beautiful flowers a card from him and the baby and a beautiful bracelet. I couldn't of asked for a better Mother's Day.Chat Icon
