IS this a JOKE?
JCrew has a $695 lace vest...part of J Crew Collection
Plus other things approaching $600+mark.
Ummmmm - is this inflation or did I miss something?
Not that Jcrew was ever bargain, but they used to get great sales and were at least "affordable"
I need some new clothes for work but was thinking I could get a new wardrobe for this much!

whenever i shop there, or online, i go right to the sale section. i don't even waste my time on the full price stuff. they have just gotten out of control!

Their prices are out of control.
And people are clearly paying them. I haven't stepped in there in a while. Even the outlets.

I think they are capitalizing on the publicity.

They have always put out high priced items during the Holidays. When they were less popular it just wasnt in the public eye as much.
I remember one holiday season they had a cashmere sweatsuit .......
When you think of it, it is a wonderful marketing/branding trick to have such differing price points - you are a luxury brand that still has some affordable peices.
I still shop there because the stuff is beautifully made and built to last and classic, and it suits my style. I would rather spend 300 on a dress I know I can keep for 5 years then 50 on one I will have for one season.
For things I cannot afford - I still love looking at the website for inspiration to find items cheaper from other brands.

I used to beeline for the sale rack, but even that has gotten out of control. A simple long-sleeve tee shouldn't be $39.99 ON SALE!!!!!!!!!

their daughters wore crewcuts to the inauguration (sp?) but their prices are getting way out of control now
