Really annoyed with electrician - need advice

2 months ago we had our old fuse box removed and a 200 amp circuit breaker put in.

Ever since then lights in the house dim every 5 - 10 minutes. Electrician said LIPA needs to replace the lines coming into the house (something about the voltage and the lines being old)

Well he told me once he files the application with the town and the inspection happens, then they will replace the lines.

I called the town today and they said they had no application even on file for our address. I called him up and told him and he said that's crazy he applied for inspection and he asked me for the number for the town and that he was gonna call them and get back to me.

Would you file a compaint about the electrician? Ever since he got our money he has been avoiding my calls, he came back to label the panel a month after he did the job and didn't even do it right.

I don't know what to do about the application with the town. I already placed a service call to LIPA about the dimming lights...

eta - he told me about a month ago that he applied for the inspection with the town and that we owe him 125 bucks for it which I have yet to pay him...

I had my box replaced and my lights do the same, but I'd say its every 20-30 minutes. but its not a huge dim so I don't think its a big deal. LIPA already came and replaced some stuff so I don't think LIPA can do anymore. we were only in the house a few weeks before we had the box replaced, but it did it before too.

I don't believe it has anything to do with the electrician, I think its LIPA

i just realized we never had a inspection on our upgrade which happened i think in December. I guess I should call me electrician.

I would tell him that until he proves he filed the application, I would not be paying him.

Hopefully LIPA can fix the situation!

anyone else? he seems to be avoiding my calls. Its like since he already has the money he doesn't want to be bothered with all the other requirements. I just want my inspection and know everything is safe...
