Need Advice on Where to Stay....

DH and I are hoping to go to Charlotte, NC this fall for a NASCAR race.

In searching for hotels, we came across some good deals, but we don't know if these good deals are being made bc the area is so-so or to attract visitors. We'll be in the area for just short of a week.

Can anyone offer advice on the following areas?

Kannapolis, NC

Mooresville, NC

Huntersville, NC

Or suggest an area north of Charlotte that is not the city.

If I were you and you could get a good deal I would stay in the city itself-uptown area.

It is such a small city, it's not overly crowded, parking is easy. There are so many restaurants in walking distance of the hotels.

If you really don't want to to uptown, I know Huntersville and Mooresville are really nice, lots of restaurants etc.

My BIL and SIl used to live in Kannapolis and it was ehhh.

They now live in Mooresville and it is nice there. I know they looked at houses in Huntersville and there are nice parts and not so nice parts.

Mooresville is not as built up and there is more farm lands there then the others but I would go with staying in Mooresville.

where at in kannapolis?

is it right off of 85 and dale earnhart pwky? dh worked on that intersection, not a bad area, close to racetrack.

huntersville. love. use to live up there. not going to be a fun ride to the race.

mooresville is big. any real local? really not a fun ride to the race.

concord mills mall is so close to track. restaurants there. i would stay in that area.

I would stay away from university area hotels, airport hotels.

anything else is just super country.
