Vegas Question Circus Circus and The Riveria
Has anyone stayed at these hotels. DH and I have been to Vegas before so as much as we love the pricey hotels we do need to stay there again. We just want somewhere clean to sleep and shower. Rather spend our money on other things.

I stayed at Circus Circus and would not stay there again. We didn't stay in the main building though, it was in some smaller two or three-story buildings out back... possible that the main hotel is nicer.
Have you considered the Hilton that's right near there, across the street from the Wynn? I'm not sure how pricey it is, but I remember it was less expensive than the big casino hotels, and very nice inside.

I stayed at Circus Circus..Many years ago. Can't really offer much since I don't remember much about it.
What about Harrah's? They are usually very reasonable.

Maybe the rooms at Circus Circus could be clean but with so many kids running around... I've never felt that the hotel itself is clean enough.

While I've never stayed at Circus Circus, we have gone there to check out the rides. We weren't impressed with the hotel at all. It's an older hotel & definitely shows.

Circus, Circus is so far from everything else, its so not worth it. Look into Harrah's, The Mirage, The Flamingo (i think that's still there) or Bally's. There are a lot of affordable hotels amidst the expensive ones in the main area.

Re: Vegas Question Circus Circus and The Riveria
We have stayed at the Sahara down on that end of the strip many times. The rooms were very clean but the distance just wasn't worth it. We used to take the monorail when it was still new and cheap but I think it's up to $5 a trip or something ridiculous like that.
The Hilton behind Riviera is nice, but isn't going to be the rock bottom prices you get at Circus Circus and Rivieria.
I would recommend going to TripAdvisor.com, read the reviews, and check the message boards over there on the two hotels.
LIF is too snobby to get a "real" opinion on them.... <and I mean that in the most loving way, ladies > It's hard to get advice on here about "cheap" things...

Re: Vegas Question Circus Circus and The Riveria
I was able to get a room for $30 at Excalibur through Expedia or Orbitz - can't remember.
We were only staying one night b/c ILs live there, so we stayed with them the rest of the time. But it's worth checking out!
ETA - it was in November.
