Quartz Silestone in the kitchen
Granite in the bathroom.
Nothing bad to say about either.
I like quartz best for the kitchen because it is so EASY and I can put a pot right from the stove to the counter (I am famous for that move!)

Sadly, we have Corian. It was here when we bought the house and since there are no scratches yet, it is staying. SOMEday, we will get granite. I really dont like it.

Granite - I don't like it but it's because of the granite I picked out... If you wash a glass and put the glass on the counter it will leave a ring, like the granite absorbed the water (it does eventually dry). I also noticed that my granite stains... like if I don't wipe up tomato sauce right away, it's there for good.
I wish I had went with butcher block. Shoulda, coulda, woulda.... but didn't. C'est la vie.

Blue Pearl Granite. I love it. I can tell when it needs to be cleaned but I don't get the water stains.
We have Shivakashi in the upstairs bath that is lighter and the water marks appear in seconds if i dont wipe it immediately. I would hate it in a kitchen.

We have custom formica in a matte finish with a custom beveled edge. We always get compliments on the counters, I think people think they are Granite at first.
I love how easy it is to maintain, it doesn't scratch easily.
I especially love the price.
When we buy our next house I would like silestone because I think some of the patterns are beautiful and I really like that it isn't porous like natural stone.
I don't like the bacterial issues with porous stone.

currently corian (we jsut moved in and it's what is here now) ....we are replacing it with quartz next week after looking at EVERYTHING, we jsut liked it best!

That's what I have!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our fabricators told us about it too but they didn't make a big deal out of it, so I was like "whatever"...
