Contractor Estimates
Can you negotiate price with them-- or, it is what it is based on their estimate? Just curious.

Re: Contractor Estimates
You can always negotiate.... If their estimate is very detailed, you can take out some of the things they have listed, or downgrade some items. Individual items can be negotiated. If you can get a good deal on flooring, you might say that you'll supply the flooring, so you're not paying the contractor to buy it for you.

Re: Contractor Estimates
I always ask if we give them cash, what is their best price. Most contractors will come down a little bit.

Re: Contractor Estimates
ALWAYS knock a contractor's price down.

And I had him throw in some extras!
