You really can paint the medallion any color you want. The sell them like mine or white primed.

you can really go either way. I would say if you are going to paint it black, I would buy a pretty one with details and show it off. If not buy a plain one and paint it white. GL!

Thank you - i think i am going to buy a white one and paint it black - and i definately want a design one

I'd also suggest you spray paint. They have all different levels of glossy kind too. That might be easier if it's one like mine. If it's a flat medallion with a design, I am sure painting it would be just fine with a brush.
