Gardners how are things growing?
How are everyone's gardens and lawns doing this year? Our little veggie patch is doing well. The lawn is a different story.
I am hoping for a good crop this year. Our tomatoes are growing and we have some flowers. The zucchini is getting bigger every day. The eggplant looks OK and the peppers are at their usual standstill.
Our lawn is now every shade of green yellow and beige. It looks like a late summer lawn. Hopefully it will come back.

Re: Gardners how are things growing?
In short, wonderfully! I had some slow starts for some 2nd year plants but others are growing like mad. My 6" butterfly bush last year is now five feet tall already! My daylilies filled in and now I'm realizing I shouldn't have put so many in one spot so I'm thinking about relocating them later in the season.
I take pictures every week but I haven't thought to post them anywhere on the web so I can share them. I should do that this weekend.

Re: Gardners how are things growing?
well its my first season so its more prep for next season. Planted 3 inkberry holly bushes and 2 barberry red bushes, grass seed and some pansies and all are doing very well. Tomato plant and two cucumber plants are thriving even though they are in pots and not the ground.
Hopefuly in fall i can find some cheap railroad ties to frame out a edible garden for next year. Ordered my bulbs for fall planting. We are trying to remove as much as possible to make some plan for next year.

Re: Gardners how are things growing?
We have everything in pots bc we are getting a new patio done and other work. My DS is growing some cucumbers from seeds and the plants are huge. I am so happy bc he is thrilled. Our tomato plants are thriving, not flowers yet though. W have 3 pepper plants and 2 are thriving, one is looking sorry. I was sick 2 weeks ago and no one watered them those 2 days and this pepper suffered the most. WE have a squash plant that was hurting too from the lack of water but it's making a comeback. Basil is doing great and so are our flower boxes.
I am worried about when the veggies start coming in though bc the *@@& squirrels ate all the tomatoes last time. Do you do anything to keep vermin away?

Re: Gardners how are things growing?
My plants that I bought last year in 1 gallon size are really growing and filling up. Giving me no regrets not to spend 3 times the price to get the same size 1 year later.
Tomatoes are growing as rest of the other veggies.

When it is hot you really have to water you lawn at lease twice a day, or really give it a lot of water once a day.
