How to estimate utility costs?
So, I am currently living in an apartment where all of the utilities are included in the rent. I have no clue what Gas and Electric costs are per month. Does anyone mind sharing? Please include the sq. ft of your living space. Thanks!!

Re: How to estimate utility costs?
Are you currently buying a home? You can request that the sellers provide you with that for the particular house you're looking at.
The amounts vary according to the size of the house, usage, number of people in the house, etc.

Re: How to estimate utility costs?
It really depends. We have a house and pay about $100-$150 a month on electric. Water is really cheap. Gas is starting to get up there.

Re: How to estimate utility costs?
we have a 1000sq foot apartment - 2 adults and a child. We're big on electronics and if DH is home, the TV is ON. Our LIPA bill hasn't been more than $55/month, even with the christmas lights on our tree and balcony.

are you home all day or out working? how is the gas used? heat, cooking, water etc? that all comes in to play
if its an apartment, is the landlord required to provide you with heat?

Its an apartment -- the gas would cover the heat and cooking.

Re: How to estimate utility costs?
You can call the utility company and they will give you a range of how much the current person is paying. I have done it.
