? about tax credit
I am wondering if an AUNT fits in this category:
"Home purchases from relatives of the taxpayer or the taxpayer’s spouse do not qualify for the tax credit. The IRS defines relatives as ancestors (parent, grandparent, etc.), lineal descendants (child, grandchildren, etc.) and spouses."

I bought from my Mother, and we closed in October, and we got the tax credit in the mail a couple weeks ago. Didn't affect us!!!!

We have a family friend who bought from her father and didn't get it. Don't know about an Aunt though.
