Our seller kind of rocks a little bit
Since we've been in contract (and even before that  ) we've been stalking the house. Almost every time we drove by it we would see the seller doing work around the house, cutting the grass, etc. Last time we saw him we talked about installing a digital thermostat and he called DH today to tell him that he had an extra one so he just installed it for us! He put in a new light fixture in the dining area and a few other things I'm probably forgetting. This was all after we went into contract! Am I extremely cynical for thinking that he's being so nice because something is terribly wrong? I'm sure everything is fine but it's in the back of my mind.

In this crazy world it is sometimes hard to believe that there are nice people out there...I'm sure everything is fine, congrats on your future house!

Sounds like a nice guy-sad that in today's society we are suspicious of nice people, but glad some nice folks are still kicking around.

I think he just sounds like a really nice guy! I wouldn't worry about it. My father is like that when he sells anything... like a lawnmower or a car. He'll go out of his way to polish out a scratch or make sure the oil is good even after he's sold it. I think you guys just got lucky and your seller is super nice!
Our seller completely stopped taking care of the property before we closed ... actually it's not like she took care of it to begin with but, she stopped mowing and basic maintenance once we went into contract. The property was like a jungle when we closed!

there really are nice people in this world.

thats awesome Jess! Maybe he is being so nice because he is happy that a nice young couple like you & Mike are moving in there and will appreciate the home the way his family did
