Where Did You Buy Your Living Room Furniture?
Did you buy it in person or online? How was your experience with the process - pre and post purchase?

We will be buying ours from Out of the Box in Islip - pre-purchase they've been fantastic. I can't say enough nice things about them.
We won't be actually getting the furniture until after our tax return but if you haven't gone there - GO. They're soooooooooo nice and not pushy at all.

couches are from Raymor and coffee table, end tables and console are from JCP. Im happy with all of them
we purchased all in store. Im so afraid to just buy by looking at a picture.

We also ordered our br furniture and I love it, so far so good

My formal living room is from all over - Domain (out of business), Thomasville, Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware and Raymour & Flanigan.
Den stuff is from Macy's, Raymour & Flanigan and ZGallerie.
Everything was bought in person- good experiences all around. I think the ZGallerie stuff is not the best quality. Will not last a long time (coffee and end tables).

I have the Rhys collection from Pottery Barn and I love it. I had a good experience with them.

I bought my couches from Fortunoff. I didnt get a wall unit and end table yet because we were waiting until walls and floors are done. I've been searching for entertainment centers and cant find one I like anywhere. I think Raymour and Flannigan had the best so I will probably get it from there. I got my bedroom set from Rte 110 Home Furnishing with out any problems!

Leather couch and leather chair - Philip Engle. I got them from their former location on Rt. 110 opposite the Walt Whitman Mall but they are not there anymore. I am not sure if they are still in business.
Wood furniture - Room and Board. I ordered it from their NYC showroom

Our couches are from Bob's. Something that big (size and price), and relatively permanent, I would want to see and use the item in person. From a picture, I probably wouldn't have bought our couch (it looks like suede, but is really microfibre), but seeing it and feeling it in person, DW and both loved it.

In person - I need to sit on EVERYTHING to make sure I'll like it, and to see how large it is. All of our living room/den furniture was purchased at Raymour and Flanigan.

We had gotten our LR furniture from Raymour and Flanigan - great couch - customer service  .
Our TV console is from Bob's
We are still in the mist of being under construction so we haven't finished ordering our coffee/end tables for the room yet
And we had picked up an Ethan Allen computer armoire off craigslist ($100) a few months back

I definitely needed to shop in person. Sofas I thought looked great online, were either not so great or super uncomfortable.
Our LR furniture is from Crate & Barrel, West Elm & Design Within Reach.
Our 'den' furniture is from Raymour & Flanagan & Macy's.
The service from all of these places, with the exception of R&F, was fantastic. My sofa (from C&B) I would never purchase again in the same fabric. It can only be cleaned using distilled water (we steam clean it) but it never, ever looks clean.

our sectional is from Macys - we saw it in store and then ordered over the phone after we closed on the house...
our dining table is from Ikea - plus 4 chairs....our 2 end chairs are from World Market - we bought all of that in store...
