As little as you are comfortable in...it is darn hot! If you have any sweat wicking clothing, that is helpful. I wear running shorts & running tank tops b/c they help pull the moisture away from your body.

OMG, I went to Patrick's class on Saturday afternoon and he kicked my a$$. I could barely finish the class, the heat I think really got to me. I am going to try to go back tonight if DH can watch DS.

I have days like that too. I went Saturday & Sunday at 10:00. I've been moving away from the 7:30AM b/c I notice that I can't do everything that early in the morning---the heat really effects me at that time. Did you hydrate enough before-hand?

Is it better to go in the morning or after work? There are classes in Bayside or at Bikram Yoga off of Voice Road on Sat. mornings.

I found that first thing in the morning was hard on my body. For me, it wasn't enough time to hydrate properly before the class. I do better in the late morning or afternoon.

Same here. I have found that in the late afternoon or evening classes, I may struggle from time to time, but for the most part, can get through the entire class with at least trying all of the poses.
I also make sure I drink a lot throughout the day and I've eaten something light, such as toast or something bready a couple hours before class and it helps.

So I have to share this:
I bought a book off of Ebay for cheap demonstrating the poses step by step.
DH is in my living room attempting to do some of the most difficult poses (i.e. triangle pose, locust pose with both legs raised).
He looks like a buffoon but is afraid to admit that it really is harder than it looks!

We are having a party! This is a studio warming party on May 1 from 5-9 PM. There will be food, music, and an opportunity to see your fellow yogis fully clothed. Bring friends and family. Also, we will celebrate those declaring to take part in our first yoga challenge in May.

I am going to try to stop in that night. I am going to also try the challenge. It's hard for me to go more than 3x a week though because of childcare issues. We will see though. 8PM is really the best time for me to go and weekends are so hard with everything going on so it's hit or miss for me to make a Sat and Sun class.

Sounds great! I was there last night and saw Allison! The poor girl---she was stuck behind me---with me blocking her mirror view. It was packed! Sorry, Allison!

I tried hot yoga once and although I really liked it I have to be honest and say I was a bit grossed out as well.
Yes I had my own matt and towel but let's be realistic sweat gets everywhere and I was wondering if they wiped the mats in the class down in between classes b/c I saw i mean puddles of sweat. I don't know to me it is very unsanitary! JMO

No need to apologize, I still was able to see. I have noticed that the classes have been a lot more packed lately.
As for the sweat, I do see them go through and do a quick wipe-down between classes.
I also have seen students bring their own spray bottles to wipe down their area.
I always spray my mat down as well between classes.
I guess hot yoga is not for everyone. I have a few people I cannot convince to try the class because they are so grossed out by sweat and being in what can sometimes be "tight quarters" with others.

wow!!!! I did it, my first class at hot yoga. It was hotter than hell in there but i loved it and I am ready for my next class tomorrow at 4pm. See you than.
