Fill Dirt - has anyone got a deliver please step in
If you got a deliver how much did you get and what did it do for you? pics etc?
Now that we have gutters (which I AM SUPER happy with) i need to fill the ground where 50 years of rain has eroded the parameter around the house and caused it to slope into the house so all water goes into the basement. I would like to build around the parameter and slope it correctly and patch up some holes around the yard.
I found a place that does free dump off on clean fill but its 15 yards worth and when I think of that amount I see a dumpster and I am just not sure if that is a lot of fill.

I'm not sure how much dirt you'll need but last year I got a yard of mulch and it filled up the bed of a pick-up truck. So think about 15 times that much I guess. I'm assuming a yard is a yard regardless of the material being delivered.

i would think it would be cubic yards that are delivered, so depending on how much slope and grading work needs to be done, you may have left over fill.
if you did have left over could you use it for anything else? i honestly don't know what's in clean fill. we have to do the same thing and just didn't get around to it this past fall.

I could do more beds but I am thinking this is WAY too much, I may have to see about borrowing a truck to go get some dirt, i was going to do pebbles as well around the house but not sure about that yet. I can't' imagine using a 15 yard container's worth of dirt.

I know my friend got a yard of mulch and had left over and I believe put an add on craigslist/freecycle for people to comee take it - and someone did!
