WHere else besides craigslist

to get free things?

i am looking to take on a refinishing project of a table / sideboard / credenza. it'll be my first one. i don't want to put the pressure on myself of "OMG, I HAVE TO MAKE THIS WORK... I SPENT XXX ON THIS!"

so... i want something ugly, but stable, that i can sand down and re-finish my own way.

i have been stalking free items on craigslist for a few days now.

Re: WHere else besides craigslist

try freecycle.org

or try curb side shopping, LOL.

Re: WHere else besides craigslist

go out on a night people put out garbage...especially the first one after a weekend...you'd be surprised what some people kick to the curb! Or stalk a garage sale...i will often see items that didn't sell sitting with a "FREE" sign on them afterwards.
