Braxton Hicks
When did you feel your first Braxton Hicks contraction and how did you know that is what it was?

I had them for the last two weeks and they started at week 32. I described the pains to my OB and he told me it was BH. It feels like someone is stabbing you with a knife "down there" and on the sides of your lower abdomen.
The pains can range from bearable to being in so much pain where it knocks the wind out of you and you are doubled over in pain. If you have more than four in a hour that are very painful call your doctor ASAP.
Hang in there, BH is not pretty.

Mine started like that, those are the bearable pains. Do you feel it when you are sitting a while and then stand up? Or if you walk for more than 15-20 minutes?

this is exactly what i've got now, only mine started abuot 30 weeks. its so awful and really makes you stop what you're doing when it happens. i'm so uncomfortable w/ this, how am i gonna deal w/ actual labor!

Mine started at about 28 weeks. I didn't know what they were though, until my doctor asked me at my next appointment if I'd had any contractions. I said that I didn't think so, so then he described to me what they would feel like. I was like, "uh, yeah, I've had those!"
It feels like a tightening around your belly, mostly in the middle near the belly button. And if you touch your belly, it's hard as a rock.
I get Braxton Hicks pretty much daily.

mine started in the early 20's, not long after i first felt baby kicking. they're just getting a lil more intense and frequent now. i'm in my 30th week.
