Staircase
We have a cape and will be blowing out the staircase walls on both sides to open up the 4th bedroom as a living room. I've been trying to find staircase photos online....Can't find much with both sides open. Anyone bored and want to help??

Re: Staircase
I did that with my stairs. Trying to find a decent pic of it....
These aren't the best pics (I'm refinishing the steps, so I was focusing on that part of the stairs), but I can take better ones over the weekend if you want. Image Attachment(s):

Re: Staircase
We had a cape and opened up the downstairs - we have a banister up now... Sorry this isn't the best pic.
eta: we also pushed back the stairs a little bit so you wouldn't open the front door right onto the staircase.
you can see the slope here where the staircase was pushed back:
one of the best decisions we made - it really makes the house seem more spacious. Other than that we didn't change the footprint at all. Just throwing that out there in case you were interested in doing something like that.
