spinoff to holiday tipping
this will by my third holiday season in my house. i've never tipped before because there was such turmoil for the first two.
would it be awkward for me to start now? and how do i go about tipping the mail carrier and the sanitation guys?
and is $10 each in a DD gc enough?

It's definitely not awkward to start tipping now.
A $10 DD gift card is more than fine.
We leave a card in the mailbox with our mail man's name on it... If you don't know his name - I'm sure you could just put "Mail Carrier" on it or something.
We make sure it's the only thing in the mailbox at the time.
For the garbage men - at my parent's - we used to tape the card to the pail. At my home with DH - we wait to see if we hear them and then run it out to them...

It's never too late to start tipping. I'm sure they would appreciate it. I would leave it in the mailbox for your mailman...don't know about the sanitation...maybe try and run it out to them?
