IGP and homeowners

Does an IGP make homeowners insurance that much higher?

I don't think so. I have a pool and my insurance is still low.

Re: IGP and homeowners

No but make sure you have a locked fence around your yard or the pool, and you are not allowed to have a diving board or slide with most

Re: IGP and homeowners

you say the fence has to be around the yard OR the pool? so if the house is fully fenced with a lock, insurance doesn't skyrocket?

the pool doesn't have to have a fence around it specifically?(not just around the yard?)

what's up with the diving board thing?

Either/or, if you don't have one around the yard it must be around the pool, and all fences MUST have a lock. But if it is a locked fence around the yard it is not required around the pool. A diving board & slide is seen as a major liability, so most insurance companies will not accept them.

Insurance doesn't skyrocket because of it, you may see a slight increase depending on the company, but nothing major. If you buy a house with a pool I would make sure you take out an Umbrella policy as well for excess liability.....

Re: IGP and homeowners

I don't think it makes insurance skyrocket. When calling not one agent was concerned since mine was gated both around the property and around the pool area. I think my policy is actually lower than some I've seen in polls on here. Fm me for more info (I will look at my policy and let you know how it reads if you need)
