MOPS???

Hi Moms!
Soon to be mommy here and I have a question.
Has anyone here joined a local MOPS group? I heard they are really helpful if you want to connect with other moms. Any info? How did you enjoy the meeting if you went?

You can find most of your MOPS groups at church. I know here in Texas that is where you can join. A lot of the churches here have that group and yes, it is for Mom's meeting Mom's with their kids.

I am not on LI, I live in Orange County (an hour north of the city). I did find a MOPS group at my church and I will check it out. I went to church yesterday and there it was in the bulletin (we are new to the church because we just moved up here). I will call and see what the deal is. Thanks again!

Let me know what you find out about the MOPS and I would always be open to doing our own OC GTG once you are settled in.

I did! Yesterday! I had a wonderful time! I missed the last meeting they had but I was glad I made this one.

It was at my church, but there were over 100 moms there. Some did not go to church, some did, some went to different churches. They had a "spa day" yesterday, and it was great! I won a door prize...a chair massage of 15 minutes and that was amazing!
It was $4 at the door (to cover food and day care), and cost $20 for the year to join. They had a bunch of food and drinks as well as child care for the moms. Everyone was so nice. They meet once every two weeks.
Tons of preggos were there who were preggo with their 2nd or 3rd. I also found out there is a night MOPS for working mothers.

I think I am definately going to join. It was so informative. Kinda like LIF, where people share ideas and make friends.

ETA: They divide you into small groups based on your geographic area. I was with all the Monroe gals I was so happy to meet other moms. I feel it will be really important for me to get out of the house and connect with people a few weeks after Gracie is born.
