Does anyone live in Nanuet? Want to share some things with me?

I LOVE the Nanuet area.

We went to the Christmas Tree Shop over the weekend and I just really think its beautiful there but know nothing about taxes, schools, homes, etc.

It's an easy commute to the city..city yet country like. I have always loved Chester, Goshen, etc. but if I were to keep it a bit closer to the city, Id love to move there.

Just wondering if anyone can share with me anything that you may know about the area! THanks!

I lived in Nanuet when growing up. I really only have very positive things to say about the town and the area.

How are the schools? Taxes? What is the community like? Are you able to find a home where it is very quiet and country like? Just anything that you feel is easy enough to share I guess? Thanks so much!

I lived there from when I was 6 months old to when I was 7. We lived right near Lake Nanuet (on Lake Nanuet Drive). My BFF's family still lives there! We walked to elementary school. The area is one of the safest I know of and most of the people I knew growing up there, their families still live there...
The schools are very good. The community is pretty small and close knit. There is one Elementary School (Miller), a middle school and of course, the high school. I have no idea about taxes.
Almost all the houses I am familiar with are bi-level/hi-ranches and (according to realtor.com) are around $550,000 or so.
Easy access from the Palisades Pkwy and Thruway. About 45 minutes or so drive to mid-town. There is a train line that runs to the city or the buses. Hmmm, what else?
