buying a home in Port Jeff Station?
Hi I'm new here but I have done a lot of reading before actually making an account 
Everyone is so helpful so I figured I would finally make a sn!
Anyway, DH and I are looking to move to LI. We were looking into Port Jeff Station but we don't know the area at ALL! no babies yet, but hopefully one day soon. DH has a few friends that grew up there and said the schools are good.
Can you tell me if there is any area other then near the train station that we should avoid?
We have no idea about the area and would love anyone's input!! Thanks!

I can't think of any other "bad" areas other than near the train station.

Same here ! I love this town ,and I am struggling to find a place to rent just to stay here
ETA: Dh and I have lived here his whole life ,and most of mine ,so if you have any questions feel free to ask !

I own a home in Port Jeff Station and I've lived here my entire life....I know I'm a loser! 
FM me if you have any questions....also besides near the train station....stay away from right around the bowling alley as well......EWW!
