Home Repairs

I don't post often on here and this is more of a vent than a question, but man repairs are killing me!! We bought a house from our friends parents 3 years ago. Beautiful house that from what we could tell was well maintained. We have progressively made some changes and one thing always leads to another! We put french doors in where our regular back door was, as soon as the opened up the wall, the whole thing needed to be replaced because of termite damage, you could crumble the 2 x 4's! How could the previous owners, supposed friends not tell us there was a previous problem with termites? They had to know because it was treated. Fast forward to today, we are replacing windows and adding on a nursery and lo and behold we open another wall and there is rot from a previous leak! The whole exterior wall needs to be replaced! Ugh!!!!!!! So annoyed, I just want to have the normal renovations that all contractors say "no big deal". Sorry just needed to get that out! If you read this far you are my hero!!

sorry that you are dealing with that. i'm shocked that your inspections didn't find anything that indicated the problems.

I'm thinking these were old problems that were handled, so we had no active termites and no active leaks. I honestly don't care, we do what we have to and move forward, I'm more frustrated that every time DH says the word "renovation" now I cringe...
