Can you guys give me your thoughts/opinions (good, bad, etc.) on Farmingville? We are considering a house there but I know little about the area. Thanks so much!!

I think it really depends on what part of town you are thinking of.

The part that we are looking at is right by the lie (like exit 62) and nichols.

If you are west of Nichols road (which I think you are) - you are fine. I grew up in that neighborhood. My only problem with that area is that they are widening Portion road.

Thank-you! I'm really terrible with directions (north, south, etc.)

Re: Thoughts on Farmingville?
I grew up there, so if you have any questions FM me if you want. When we were looking for homes we looked there. GL

Re: Thoughts on Farmingville?
I think there are some nice areas of Farmingville, but utlimately, for the same money and taxes, there are nicer places, imo. I personally like towns more away from the center of the island and towards a shore.

Re: Thoughts on Farmingville?
we bought our house there 4 years ago. We wanted sachem SD so thats why and we got a lot of house with a large piece of property for the money. We are off adirondack, berkshire area in a court. The blocks by me and surround me are really pretty. The down fall are the hills during snowy winters. They are absolutley terrible to travel on unless you have 4 wheel drive. We are happy.

Do you know exactly where on Portion Road this is going to start and end? I have heard so many different rumors about what sections are affected. Thanks!
There are some nice houses for the money in Farmingville. I would say to make sure you like the block you are on but that's the case anywhere.
