Registering the second time around?

Not for the purpose of having a shower (Ha! I just had one in November for dd), but so you can get the "registry completion discount" before you give birth? Anyone ever do this?

There are a few big ticket items that I will be needing, and it would be nice to get some $$$ off, kwim?

Good idea? Not so good? Advice?

Re: Registering the second time around?

I thought about registering for this PG for the discount but I routinely receive 20% off coupons so the 10% completion coupon doesn't seem so worth it. However, I got something in the mail from target with a $20 gift card if I register. I think we will make a small registry there to get the free gifts.

I did but not for gifts. I got a few coupons that if I registered I would receive a gift card.

I got a $10 gift card for registering at Babies R US
$20 for registering at Target

I also like the little freebies like coupons, samples, bottles, etc that they give you when you register.

I have bought the stuff that I registered for already. I have to remember to remove it when I do!
I have been receiving a lot more coupons since I registered so it was worth it. I also used it as a guide to what I really needed since they are 4 years between kids.
It is also a guide for what I want or need in case I need to send my DH to the store for stuff like bottles that I may need, etc. (That way he knows exactly what I am looking for).

The 10% completion coupon is an added bonus. I really didn't need that much though.

I am not having a shower or "sprinkle".

I registered at BBB and BRU. The registries only have a couple items on it because we really don't need much, but I did it to get the completion coupon. DH and I have no intention of sharing the registry with anyone.

Do you have to register in person at Target to get the $20 gift card or can you do it online? I ask because I'm on bedrest and can't go into the store. But, the gift card sounds tempting since I buy a lot of DS's stuff at Target!

I always register! This is my 4th registry. No one buys items off of it but us. I have about 10 items tops and I do this to get the 10% off at the end.

Re: Registering the second time around?

i don't think i am going to bother - the only new things we will need are furniture for DS, and pink clothes/bedding if it's a girl. we are team Chat Icon so we don't have to worry about that for a while.

I registered but I don't plan on telling anyone.

There is a 4 year age gap so I registered for things like sheets, stuff that needs to be replaced or upgrades of items (like a better thermometer).

I want to be on the mailing list again and I want that big discount for my new breast pump!

I plan on taking my time (getting coupons) and shopping from my registry (I may even wrap it up HAHA!)

I am having a sprinkle but don't plan on gifts, just diapers.

Re: Registering the second time around?

I registered for a few things at BBB just so I know what I need, plus my mom and some other family members wanted to know if I needed anything. Little things like a new boppy pillow, towels, washclothes, bottle drying rack, bathtub, new sheets. Things I didn't save from DS.

I also plan on adding a double stroller and carseats if I need so I can get the discount Chat Icon

I also had the same question. I will not be having a shower.
But I like the idea of registering to get the coupons and the completion discount. I also wasn't going to tell anyone if I did end up registering.
